The East Fife Male Voice Choir originated in 1957 in the Wemyss Area of Fife under the aegis of the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation (CISWO). Prior to the official formation of the "East Fife" there was a Male Voice Choir in Buckhaven as early as 1932. The photograph below is believed to be this choir taken between 1932 and 1934. The father of one of the senior members of the present choir is in this photo.
John Morrison was the first conductor, with Abigail McKenzie as the accompanist, when the choir became independent in 1959.
