A native or Airth, Robin was educated at Larbert High School and Glasgow University (holding the post of Organ Scholar), from where he graduated with Honours in Music. His organ tutors while t Glasgow were Richard Galloway and John Langdon. Robin is an associate of the Royal College of Organists, London and has been organist in churches in Linlithgow, Grangemouth and Dunblane. He was also Assistant organist to Herrick Bunney at St.Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh. He is currently organist at Stenhouse & Carron Parish church, Stenhousemuir, Falkirk.
Robin taught music at Falkirk High School and Alloa Academy but is currently Principal Teacher at Madras College, St. Andrews. He is also administrator of SCOTS (Scottish Churches Organist Training Scheme), an organ Tutor at the St.Andrews University Summer Organ School, Treasurer of the Scottish Federation of organist as well as the accompanist to the East Fife Male Voice Choir. He was conductor of Cupar Choral Society for five years.
In May 2009 he received an honorary award from the Royal School of Church Music at a special service in Salisbury Cathedral in recognition of his contribution to Scottish church music.
