Recently, we were fortunate enough to be awarded £1,000 by Fife Housing Group who offer funding to local groups via their ‘Giving Something Back Grants’. This scheme made £20,000 of funding available in 2024 to continue supporting local charities and projects with the fantastic work they do. These grants are made possible by the generosity of the contractors, Graham Hygiene, Rogerson Plumbing & Heating Ltd., Shine Cleaning Services (Edinburgh) Ltd., Eurojet (Scotland) Ltd., City Technical Services (UK) Ltd., Ritchie Builders, Mitie Property Services (UK) Ltd., Kingdom Maintenance (Fife) Ltd., HL Tree Services and Intona Ltd. These contractors have signed up to Fife Housing Group's charitable framework, donating 2% of their invoiced costs to benefit local good causes. We decided to use this Grant to fund and promote an Open Rehearsal Event on 21st September 2024. Our objective being to demonstrate the joy & benefits of singing to many more members of the local community and hopefully to help us gain lots of new voices into the choir for future years! |
Following our funding award from The Fife Housing Group we ran our Open Rehearsal Day on Saturday 21st September 2.30pm- 5.00pm in Pathhead Church Hall in Kirkcaldy. Opening the doors on the day to anyone in the local community who might like to sing, to come in for a chat, have a coffee and sandwich, sing along with us and hopefully come along and join us in the choir for the upcoming season! The event was a great success with a number of people attending to take a look see at what we do and the fun we have as a group not just when performing but when we gather together on a Monday evening to rehearse. Thankfully so far, we now have 5 new choir members join us as a result of this event. Hopefully we may yet see a few more of those who came along join us on a Monday evening soon and for anyone else who fancies it ,don’t wait for the next Open Day come along next week and give singing with us a try!
